Dermal Fillers

What are Dermal Fillers?

The lips and face are constantly exposed to factors that result in ageing such as weather conditions, smoking, and daily use when you laugh and talk.  Whether you are looking to restore volume to lips or smooth away wrinkles and folds, then dermal fillers can help.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) has been used for almost 2 decades in facial aesthetics.  In skin it provides elasticity and volume, and retains moisture.  In lips it adds definition to the lip line whilst integrating with the delicate tissue to create beautiful, fuller looking lips.

Dermal fillers are HA gels that resemble your body’s own HA and are specifically  designed to work within the different layers of the skin to restore facial volume and improve the quality and integrity of the skin.

Lip treatments are an effective way to achieve fuller, healthier looking lips with a soft and natural appearance to give you a more youthful look.

How can dermal fillers enhance my lips?

• Enhance lip volume

• Enhance and lift the cupids bow

• Reduce visible smokers lines and lift the corners to give a happy smile

How can dermal fillers revitalise my natural facial features?

• Smooth away wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth

• Soften and reduce lines around the eyes

• Define and restore volume to the cheeks

Are dermal fillers safe?

HA gels have undergone extensive testing to ensure safety and have been in use for almost 20 years.  The advantages of these are that they offer long-lasting yet reversible and non-permanent results.

How long does a treatment take?

You will have a full consultation and medical history taken. Treatment usually takes 15-30 minutes following application of a topical anaesthetic cream.

What to expect after your treatment?

Results can be seen instantly. Patients can experience a little discomfort immediately after treatment, but effects such as swelling, redness and itching usually resolve by themselves after a few hours or days dependent on each individual.  You can return to work the same day with a natural smile following treatment.

Will I need a top-up?

To maintain your look you will need to revisit your dentist for repeat treatment or a top-up. Most patients return after 6-12 months.
